Google News

Google News is a service that automatically searches through approximately 4,500 news sources for news headlines.  I have found Google News to be a refreshing alternative to biased news sources, because although the articles come from traditional sources, they pull together related articles from various sources "enabling you to see how different news organizations are reporting the same story."

Since getting the news from this source typically entails visiting multiple online newspapers, a user will encounter numerous registration requests.  Therefore, the services of BugMeNot and Mailinator will help considerably when using this service.

You can even do an Advanced News search for news you may have heard about, but didn't have too many details for.
