Make Acrobat Reader Faster

If you're like me and  you use Adobe Acrobat Reader frequently, you may want to have it load up quicker.  To do so, try the following:
  1. Open ?L:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat ?N\Reader
    {Replace ?L with the appropriate letter for the drive in which you installed Acrobat Reader and ?N with the number of the version you're using}
  2. If you do not see a folder called "Optional", create one
  3. Move all files from the "plug_ins" folder to the "Optional" folder

I have found that this also helps to keep Acrobat Reader from crashing and hanging after you've closed the document and tried to close the application.

Acrobat Reader 6 is a hog, use version 5 instead, it's still available for download from Adobe if you specify Windows 95 as your OS.
Cheers,
